Membership
Individuals seeking membership in the Kansas Cherokee Community Organization (KCCO) must complete a membership application and pay the required $20 membership fee. Membership becomes effective upon review and approval of the application by the KCCO Board. Approval of membership applications is at the discretion of the Board.

Membership Categories:

Cherokee Citizen Membership - A Cherokee Citizen Membership requires the individual to be an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Citizenship status will be verified using a valid Cherokee Nation tribal citizenship card ("Blue Card") or current Cherokee Nation photo ID. At least 60% of KCCO members must be Cherokee Citizen Members.

Associate Membership - An Associate Member is an individual who is not an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. Associate Members may not exceed 40% of the total KCCO membership.

Voting Member - All members who are 18 years of age or older and are listed on the KCCO membership rolls as either a Cherokee Citizen or Associate Member shall be entitled to vote in all KCCO elections.
